questions about sunuo.

is this just a linux based emul or will it run on vista 64bit?
sorry to seem like a moron here, but i know nothing of linux, have never tried to use it in the past.

does the download include baseline scripts for poulating town, world, dungeon npcs?
does it include a remote gm admining tool with server resync/restart capabilities? as my and my brother who are on different time schedules are co adming and gming the shard, and would like the ability for me to write scripts and sync them to the server which is based out of his office.

Hi, I wish to try to answer to you:

SunUO is based on Mono, which is a open source implementation of .NET language. This mean if Mono run on Vista 64bit then SunUO run on Vista 64bit.
Due to the fact that the language specification are similar you may also try to compile and/or run with Microsoft .NET which it surely run on Vista64.

SunUO include everything, a populated world, every scripts you need and several tools but I cannot answer for remote administration, I'm not sure if there is something similar build directly on the server or avaiable via scripts or modification of the server. Anwyay it is possible to made it by yourself or if you are able to log remotely in Vista (like with VNC o RDesktop) you may be also able to remote the server.
SunUO restart automatically in case of crashes of error, if you need such capability.

If I may help somehow let me know.

Fore more information about Mono framework visit Mono Project.

EDIT: As I've seen in the Mono website it doesn't seems to work in x86_64 architecture in Windows system, however I guess it is possible to use it with 32bit emulations.
This mean it may run on Vista 64bit but in case the server will act as in a 32bit machine and will be not optimized.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

I didn't understand how to populate world... I installed sunUO, have got UO: mondain's legacy and start server.
But the only "mobile" is some npcs like keeper or villagers in city but there are no rabbits, no bears, no monsters at all.

Could you help me to fix my issue (or understanding...)?

You should take a look at the RunUO (SunUO is only a fork of RunUO) Community. There are lots of scripts, addons and Tutorials. Also a bigger community.

Well this may take to a long discussion and now, forgive me, I don't have the time to explain everything.
If you want to add monsters, npc or anything else you may find useful the command:
[add
which pop up a menu for add almost anything.
The discussion is long because also you may need particular NPC, with a different speech or which trigger something for a quest, a strange monster or even a simple spawn point... well it's possible but, as I told you, there is a lot to talk about it.
If you want to tweak a monster use also the
[props
command while in-game.
